Spiritual Education for Children and Adults in Northern Virginia

"The Great Being saith: Regard man as a mine rich in gems of inestimable value. Education can, alone, cause it to reveal its treasures, and enable mankind to benefit therefrom."
- Baha'u'llah

"As for thee, have for them an abundant love and exert thine utmost in training them, so that their being may grow through the milk of the love of God, for as much as it is the duty of parents to perfectly and thoroughly train their children."
- 'Abdu'l-Baha

OWBS Security Procedures

Moving from the Devotional Gathering to Classrooms

Students in the Stars through 3rd grade classes must be escorted from the morning session to their classrooms by their teachers. Students in grades 5-12 do not need to be escorted to their classes; however, these students are required to be in their classrooms no later than 10:30am.

Hallway Movement

For safety reasons, students should not be roaming the hallways.  Any student who leaves a classroom must have a valid pass issued and signed by their teacher, stating the student’s destination and approximate time to return to class.  The Security Team or other OWBS administrators will be monitoring hallways for safety.

Drug-Free Environment

The NOVA Bahá’í Center is considered to be a “drug-free environment.”  Smoking is not permitted on Center grounds, to include the buildings and parking lot.  If someone is seen smoking on school grounds, please report the incidence to the OWBS Security Team or an administrator.  Security guards are to remind any persons smoking on school grounds of this rule and ask them to stop.  If a person refuses to follow this guideline, further steps will be taken to encourage compliance.

Evacuation Plan

Complete evaluation plans are being formalized by NOVA Bahá’í Center personnel and will be conveyed to OWBS personnel, parents and students soon.
