- Baha'u'llah

"As for thee, have for them an abundant love and exert thine utmost in training them, so that their being may grow through the milk of the love of God, for as much as it is the duty of parents to perfectly and thoroughly train their children."

May 13th, 2008 Principal Posted in Announcements, OWBS | No Comments »

Dear Friends,

This Sunday, May 18th, is the last Sunday of classes for the OWBS 2007-2008. On Sunday, May 25th (Memorial Day weekend) we will enjoy our graduation ceremony for the 12th Graders and our picnic at the Lake Fairfax Park in Reston, Virginia. We began this year with the challenge of transitioning yhe school from its previous facility to the Northern Virginia Baha’i Center, and we are completing the school year with great success–300 enrolled children and youth, two well attended and insightful adult programs (the Speakers’ Forum and the Farsi class), a moving and spiritually uplifting devotional program,  the great Cafe Ridvan bookstore, the Center Cafe, an up-to-date website, class photos, several special events–Ayyam-i-Ha Party, Ridvan celebration, Teachers’ Appreciation Luncheon, parent-admin meetings, teacher-admin meetings, etc.  A very special thank you is extended to all those who contributed to the success of the OWBS this year; especially:  the teachers, the parents, the students, the administrators and staff, the volunteers, the NVBC Manager and Board, the OWBS Board, the LSA of Fairfax County East, our sponsoring Assembly, and all the Assemblies and individuals who contributed financially and otherwise to the OWBS . God bless you all for your sacrifices, your commitments, and your support. We hope this was a great year for you. We look forward to a even better year next year at the OWBS.

This Sunday, classes for the children and youth (STARS through 12th Grade) and the adult programs (English and Farsi) resume.

Devotions begin promptly at 10 AM in the auditorium.

At 10:30 AM, author and previous guest speaker Ms. Kathy Lee will speak on “The Nature of the Soul and Its Journey to God” in the auditorium. A follow-up session with Kathy will take place on the 3rd floor at 11:20 AM until 12:15 PM.
